Wildcats v SEM Wrap

Expected to be the game of the round, it was an entertaining affair. As predicted the pace was frantic and super coach points were a plenty. SEM are pretty shit though. Lot of wasted possessions when DWJ doesn't have the ball.

For those who paid up big for Bryce Cotton, he didn't disappoint. His score was heavily reliant on actual points, but the three ball was dropping at will - 8 3s - ridiculous. He had 16 SC at quarter time., 25SC at the half, 41Sc at 3/4 time and finished with 42SC.

Our Ben Henshall questions didn't take long to be answered, with the young fella first off the wildcats bench alongside Windler. 10SC in 5 first quarter minutes was welcomed. He played another 5 in the second and went in to the big break with 15SC. It continued in the second half with Henshall looking comfortable there and it appeared he has earned the faith of Coach Rillie. He finished with a very impressive 20 minutes for 27SC pts.

I just love DWJ's game. A pure Point Guard, he set the table early and often, going SC point for SC point with Cotton. The pairing with Jordan Hunter is nice, leading to plenty of assists. He had 5 at the half and could have had more if the other two imports could hit the backside of a barn. DWJ had 35SC at 3/4 time having consistently racked them up all night. His 10pts 7 assists at the last break had him in arms reach of a double double. With the game over mid way through the 4th DWJ sat the last 5 minute and would finish at 13pts and 8 assists with only 1 turnover - elite. Good for

As much as I love DWJ, I cant warm to Sobey.

Matt Hurt had quietly racked up a double double of 11 and 11 at 3/4 time. He finsihed with 16 and 12 which was good for 38SC.

Pinder (40SC) had a big night. Scoring well and even hitting the 3 ball regularly. May be a play in future rounds. Looked closer to his cairns days than last season. Good signs.

Glover featured on a lot of benches. He wasn't overly impressive and it seems Malique lewis may in fact be the 6th man here. The Next Star was first of the SEM bench and played 8 mins in the first quarter.

Doolittle (32SC) was a supercoach revelation last year once he worked things out. I wasn't impressed over the preseason but he's a sneaky accumulator finishing just short of a double double - 9pts 13 rebounds.

Almansa was good. Both minutes and production were there and he will get better as the season goes on. His 14 SC was solid and better than his BE.

For anyone considering pepper, Don't!. He checked in at the 7 minute mark of the 4th when the game was all but over. Instant impact though with a 3 ball on his first touch.
