Taipans V Hawks

The Hawks starting line up is BIG! On top of that they look good, executed well and showed some really creative and well run sets. We knew coming in to this that the Snakes were depleted in the guard department and it showed. Also how annoying is the American Ref?

Darius Days has a lot of Doolittle about him. Hawks did well to put him in mismatches in the post, getting himself going with takes against smaller defenders like Rob Edwards. 2pts, 5 rebounds at 1/4 time. Will be a double double threat game in game out. Genuine rebounds, not the Angel Reese variety where you just get your own misses. 8pts, 9rbds in the first half (17SC). Few easy misses that could have had him close to a first half double double, will get his touch in time. Double Doubled 3 mins in to the second half. Finished with 43SC

Harvey is one we looked at long and hard. Glad we didn't pull the trigger. Average, ordinary, unspectacular.

Waardenburg frustrated owners last year after a solid rookie campaign but he looks much improved in this role even without Armstrong there to set the table. 13 actual pts and 15SC at the half. Has always been heavily reliant on pts to make up most of his SC score. Finished with 18SC.

I'm super high on Tanner Groves. He's firmly on my radar come the Cairns back to back doubles in rnds 3 and 4. He fills the stat sheet well and for a big man is a great passer, racking up assists. 11 first quarter SC pts. If you squint he may just resemble a ver very very poor mans John Mooney. 25SC

Kyrin Galloway is a guy we were big on early but cooled on over the blitz with weak performances and an unclear role.

Rob Edwards, early foul trouble. I don't feel he has the game that translates that well to supercoach. Hes a scorer but doesn't do a lot else. 11SC at the half. Showed a few signs of life in the last to finish with 24SC

Pedro Bradshaw 12 SC at half time. Unimpressive. Looks a step slow.

Sam Froling is a big piece of what he hawks are trying to do. Hawks went inside often and early helping him to 13pts, 6 boards at the main break for 20SC. He looks like he's put in work this offseason and could be set for improved numbers across the board. 28SC

HJ Lee's stroke is WET!

Davo Hickey, (BE 9)first off the bench for the hawks as expected, but only the 6mins in the first half. not ideal and slightly concerning. Did sweet FA. Few bone headed turn overs undid any good work he managed to do.

Lachie Olbrich (BE 10) slated as a cash cow, highly owned came in mid way through the first and slowly went about his business, picking his moments well. 12SC at half time. Really solid outing and if his continues ill be holding for a long time. Padded the stats late and finished with 32SC, and a double double.

Trey Kell comes in to this season with an inflated price tag based on his second half heroics last year in Adelaide. Tipped to be nowhere near his breakeven of 30. He was surprisingly good. Great for this team but hes such a team player I feel that he will defer on any given night and punish SuperCoaches.
