BUY
Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers)
OUR BUY OF THE WEEK
This one feels obvious, but sometimes the obvious play is still the correct one.
Maxey has cemented himself as the engine of this 76ers offence, and the numbers back it up. He’s a top tier guard in usage, efficiency, and availability, and unlike some other high-end guards, he doesn’t come with minutes or role concerns.
With elite scoring upside, strong assists, and a schedule that really opens up now, Maxey is the safest buy on the board right now. If you don’t own him, you’re likely losing to regret not jumping on sooner.
Verdict: Pay up. He might even be a season long keeper now.
Kevin Durant (Houston Rockets)
Durant in Houston still feels uncomfortable to trust for some, which is exactly why he’s a buy.
The role is clear, the usage is there, and when Houston need a bucket, it’s still KD. He’s producing at an elite rate when on the floor.
The thing I like most about Durant is the schedule. They play the most amount of 4 game weeks for the rest of the year. Without Sengun his usage increases also.
Verdict: Buy now and enjoy.
Kawhi Leonard (LA Clippers)
This is a calculated risk, but one of my favourite plays if you’ve got the “testicular fortitude” to do it.
When Kawhi is healthy, he’s a top-tier SuperCoach scorer with the ability to rack up monster defensive stats. His recent scoring stretch shows exactly what he can do when the opportunity presents and injuries aren’t hampering him. The Clippers need him to stay competitive.
He’s also got an elite schedule and the Clips don’t have their first round pick. So there’s no tanking in Clipperland this year.
Verdict: High-risk, high-reward play.
HOLD
Kevin Porter Jr (Milwaukee Bucks)
The role is still there, the opportunity is still there, and his breakeven suggests there’s more value to come once efficiency stabilises. This is a classic patience play.
Verdict: Hold for cash gen. Bench him on the 3 game week if you can.
Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks)
A three game week and managed minutes might spook some coaches, but Giannis remains Giannis.
Even on reduced minutes his per-game output keeps him relevant. He’s one of the 3 game week players I’m Happy to play this week.
Verdict: Hold and re-assess next week.
Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio Spurs)
Yes, there is rest and injury concerns, and the occasional quiet game, but the upside is generational. Trading Wemby now just doesn’t make sense.
This isn’t the time to jump ship.
Verdict: Hold tight and enjoy the ceiling when it comes. I still Think he plays 3 of 4 games this week.
SELL
Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets)
This is no longer a luxury discussion, it’s a necessity.
Jokic is dealing with a knee injury and is expected to be out 4–6 weeks, which immediately changes his value profile. In salary-cap formats, you simply cannot afford to carry that much cash on the sidelines for that long.
Even if he returns on the early side, there’s a strong chance of eased minutes and managed workloads. His name value will still attract interest, and that’s exactly why now is the time to move him.
Verdict: Must sell. Injuries suck
Jaylon Tyson (Cleveland Cavaliers)
Tyson has served his purpose, but the cash generation has stalled.
The early-season value was driven by opportunity, not role security, and that opportunity has started to dry up. Holding him now only increases the risk of a slow bleed.
Verdict: Cash has peaked. Time to move on.
Ryan Nembhard (Dallas Mavericks)
Nembhard’s value is heading the wrong way.
His cash is already regressing, and with his role becoming less reliable, there’s a real danger of watching that value drain away week by week. If you’ve made money off him, that’s a win, but staying any longer is unnecessary risk.
Verdict: Sell now before the cash loss accelerates.
