The scheduled based NBA Supercoach is now mirroring a hospital ward,, with as many as 15% of the league’s players unavailable at some point during week 2. With the best ability being availability, what Supercoach relevant injuries might rocket the next man up into Supercoach relevance?? Lets take a look around the league.

Looking at another 2 week block of games, week 3 and week 4, here is how many games each team plays -

8 games - Cavs, Mavs, Bucks, Pelicans, Thunder, Suns, Spurs, Jazz, Wizards

7 games - Hawks, Celtics, Rockets, Pacers, Lakers, Grizzlies, Heat, Knicks, 76ers, Trailblazers, Kings, Raptors

6 games - Nets, Hornets, Bulls, Nuggets, Pistons, Warriors, Clippers, Timberwolves, Magic

I will end up with RSI if I type out an injury report, and ya’ll should know who is in your team and who needs to go.

Joker - Sits at 15th most owned at 22% and the 78% non owners are definitely “on top” through the opening 2 weeks. Not a guy known for coming out of the off season in peak physical condition, as an owner, I am hoping the game conditioning switch suddenly turns on. Shooting 47% from the field, its the lowest mark of his career, and down from 57% last season. Also down in rebounds and assists. Surely the tide will turn, and as a non owner, you probably hope its one more week of underwhelming on court play, before getting him at a discount. Only plays one 4 game week in the next 5 weeks, which is week 5. Fading him for the next 2 weeks before that??? Brave.

Cooper Flagg - The Supercoach board of position selections have done us dirty assigning Flagg as only a SF, but he has now elevated himself into must own territory. He has improved in every stat in year 2, and the 3.8 STOCKS per game in real world NBA are elevating his SC scores. Still underpriced with a 49 BE. The time to buy is now.

Kyrie Irving - Listed as doubtful today. Shame, he is balling and underpriced.

AJ Dybantsa - Is he a must own, given most of the rookies that are well owned are still making bulk money, at least for another week? You could wait a week, depending on roster priorities. I can understand a Brazille to AJ trade though.

Giannis/Wemby - Sitting 3rd and 4th most traded in for the week. Happy days if you can trade one in to own them both, if its trading one in to own just the one, Wemby has the advantage with the extra game over the next fortnight.

Maxey - The only relevant 76er to not miss a game through the opening fortnight, he has a low score of 18 and a high score of 37, which indicates the upside potential is not as high as the Wemby’s Giannis’ and Flagg’s of the Supercoach world. Has only the 13th best average at 28.6 SC points.

Donovan Mitchell - Would you believe me if I told you that Mitchell was the 3rd highest scorer on the Cavs roster through the opening fortnight? Its true, with the twin towers edging out Mitchell’s 146 SC points with 158 (Mobley) and 152 (Allen). Its a big man game, and whilst Edwards is an easy trade out, I prefer a downgrade and chasing the big man points.

SGA - With 4 rotation guys now on the INJURED list, at first look its obvious that SGA will need to do more, but does that translate into more SC points? The jury is out. He is getting double teamed almost every time he touches the ball. He has a high SC score of 37 and a low of 11 (both in week 1). Can’t do it right now, there is better ways to spend your money in the front court positions. Only owned by 17.7% though, not far off POD areas. I think Booker or Trae Young are a chance to outscore SGA over the next fortnight, and come with a significantly cheaper price point. McCain and Ajay Mitchell are better downgrades in the OKC uniform.

Kingston Flemings - Missing the first game of the week, but is carving out a rotation role, in a team that needs his playmaking. I like this downgrade from a Hali or Edwards, to fund an upgrade elsewhere.

Jalen Johnson - Still sitting as QUESTIONABLE 2.5 hours out from his first game of the week. Whilst underwhelming last week, its still JJ, I am holding if he plays today, but selling if he doesn’t. Follow me for more absolutely no help SC advice.

Paul George - 7th most traded in before week 3 tip off. This is PG13, I think you are targeting the wrong SF/PF on the Celtics roster. Tatum all day. Find the extra money.

Entire Bucks roster - HARD NO

Zion/Murray/Fears - Pelicans are frisky in the real world NBA, and have a nice slate of games over the next 2 weeks, with Zion sneakily sitting as the 18th best SC average. I like Fears, and he could make some money. But this is also the Pelicans.

Mo Bamba - Sits at the top as the cheapest dollar per point right now, which seems ridiculous given his track record of barely being fantasy relevant. He is the definition of a trap. Started the week with 29 minutes, and finished the week with 10 minutes. Don’t be blinded by the negative 2 BE and $1.1 million price projection.

There won’t be a lot of variance in trades this week, if you can stockpile some money, and be prepared to slaughter one or two of your cash cows next week, that could be the play.

For the record, my trades this week -

Ty Jerome - Flemings

Risacher - Flagg

Brazille - Dybantsa

CAPTAINS CALL

Luka, Wemby, Giannis - Take your pick. Luka may miss a game. Giannis may take a small step back if the Heat shooting regresses back to its week 1 showing, which was appalling. Wemby the safest pick here.

The POD captain would be Flagg. You couldn’t do it though could you???

Best of luck, and may the injury gods be kinder in week 3.
