Its time to have an eye on the upcoming bye schedule, which looks like this over the next 3 weeks -
Week 5 - Panthers & Chiefs
Week 6 - Bengals, Lions, Dolphins & Vikings
Week 7 - Bills, Jags, Chargers & Commanders
Week 6 is the biggest challenge in this first block of byes, with Gibbs, Jefferson, Chase and St Brown all on the bye, and all in the top 15 most owned players. Does this bye schedule influence the decision to cut ties with JJ now? Lets find out.
TOP 15 TRADED IN
1. Matthew Golden - Negative 12 BE. Jordan Love has thrown the ball 124 times through the first 3 weeks, with 30 of those targets coming Golden’s way. With no resemblance of a running game, you would think that this trend continues. He needs to catch more than 50% of his targets though, but if you are out on JJ, cash him in and bank some money with Golden, and then make a little more. The question though - Having missed the first $2.7 million price rise, does he make you enough to trade him in and out again?
2. Brock Bowers - 10 receptions on 14 targets for 116 yards and a TD. You can wait a week or pull the trigger now, but when healthy, he is unquestionably the TE1 for Supercoach. I am not waiting, Loveland GOOOOOOOOOOOOOODBYYYYYYYE
3. Noah Fant - 12 targets, 8 catches and 3 TD’s. This does not continue. The minus 27 BE is sexy, but another case of burning a trade to get him out. A reminder he had a zero target game in week 2, and had played a bees dick over 50% of the snaps for the saints. He might also be the 3rd best TE on the team.
4. Bhayshul Tuten - You’ve missed the first $2.3 million price rise, but there could be plenty more money to be made here. But…..And here’s the but - After Bengals he goes Eagles, Texans, BYE. If you have him, you should be very happy, if you don’t you are taking a risk that might be worth less than a couple of million. Its a no from me.
5. Kenyon Sadiq - Looking like he is going to outpace Likely in points and cash now. But like Likely, one game does not define a young players Supercoach outlook, especially at TE. I couldnt do Likely to Sadiq, but if its to get off of Loveland, and/or help you get to Bowers, get it. Listed as Questionable as at Wednesday US time. One to monitor.
6. Ollie Gordon II - Before going down, a consensus first round fantasy RB De’Von Achane had 34 carries for 127 yards, 3.74 yards per carry. The TD for Gordon as the replacement lead back masked a 17 carry, 41 yard day for him. 2.41 yards per carry. That’s gross. Dolphins are gross, and they also have a week 6 bye to consider. Hard to trust anyone on the Dolphins.
7. JSN - Currently the 7th most owned player in SC. He should be the first most owned player not named Josh Allen. BYE week 11, swallow your pride and find a way to bring him in.
8. Case Keenum - Bottom dollar, experienced QB, but he might be warming the seat for only one more game. No need to go early here, with Williams listed as doubtful, and “getting better each day”, you might not even get a price rise out of Keenum. Hold fire.
9. Jeremiyah Love - $2.6 million price rise, with a minus 13 BE. He might be the best cash cow of the season, and looks better each game. Its not too late.
10. Christian Watson - He had 1 less target than Golden, but done a hell of a lot more. 17 catches on 29 targets for 4 x TD’s. You’ve missed a 2.8 million price rise and he sits at a 21 BE. Is he a WR keeper is the question to ask yourself if you are bringing him in this week? Technically he is the 3rd best WR through 3 weeks, with only JSN and St Brown ahead of him in total SC points. That surprised me, I would’ve had, at least - JSN, St Brown, Lamb, Chase and Olave ahead of him for the rest of the season. Puka/Adams, JJ, London, Flowers Collins you could argue as well. Not for me.
11. Vikings DST - Week 6 BYE. I repeat WEEK 6 BYE - Have they ascended to the best DST option for this year, I would say so. They might score more points than the Texans and the Rams, they might not. Trades are at a premium, I don’t know about using one on a DST (or K), this early on. Just look at the injury carnage. DST and K is a lottery position, with very volatile scoring week to week.
12. CeeDee Lamb - The Pickens/Lamb 1A/1B WR storyline seems to be a myth. Lamb lapping Pickens, making $2.3 million last week and a minus 7 BE this week. Season keeper. Week 14 BYE. Pull the trigger
13. Raiders DST - Chiefs, Patriots, Bills & Rams over the next 4 weeks. They will play Drake Maye back in to form, just you watch. A schedule of Dolphins, Chargers and Saints to start, it doesn’t get much easier than that. This scoring trend won’t continue for Crosby and co. Also, this is the Raiders.
14. Kenneth Walker 3rd of his name - Don’t worry if you missed the $4.5 million price rise (not a misprint), he is a season keeper. 2nd most owned player in SC, behind Jerimiyah where is the Love.
15. Zay Flowers - Has a hamstring related questionable tag against his name right now. I don’t know about this
TOP 15 MOST TRADED OUT
1. JJ - Ankle questionable. Not ideal, especially given he plays in the second block of games on Monday at 7am. I am an owner, and I am holding, regardless of whether he plays or not. I still think he could be a season long keeper, where the early week 6 BYE, could be advantageous to his long term outlook. Couldnt knock anyone for cutting him loose though.
2. Isaiah Likely - BE of 21, I would be giving him another week, especially if you only traded him in last week. If you are doing Likely to Fant, thats a reverse trade from me dawg. Likely to Bowers or Sadiq, I can get around.
3. Jalen Coker - From the penthouse to the shithouse in one week in Supercoach. He is not even ruled out yet, but nursing a quad and ankle complaint, sees him marked as questionable. Unfair to question the trade last week, given his injury effected score in week 3, but with a 29 BE, he could be of no help to your squad for the next 2 weeks, given the week 5 BYE.
4. Colston Loveland - He got a stay of execution, and it didn’t pan out to well for patient owners like myself. Loveland to Bowers was done by me within 30 seconds of week 4 being open for business. BE of 44, he could plummet cash very quickly if the opening 3 weeks is anything to go by. I got it wrong, I am correcting.
5. Omarion Hampton - Speaking of getting it wrong. I have Hampton. Hampton and Chargers suck and they now roll into a 3 week schedule of Seahawks, Broncos and Chiefs before the week 7 BYE. Gross. I just can’t find the trade for him this week, so despite the 32 BE, he gets another week in my squad, albeit as a NPR, with Jeremiyah Love promoted to the starting team.
6. Rams DST - As per above with Vikings and Raiders, I aint wasting trades in this position at this point of the season.
7. Jadarian Price - The numbers are alarming, led by 2 x fumbles. 48/34/28 are his snap percentages, which includes benchings for said fumbles. I am happy to hold, and hope the Chargers DST run him into form. Despite a BE of 13, he only needs one decent play to get some cash gen rolling. If he is in your top 3 problems this week, you are flying. Also questionable this weekend, maybe his hands dont work.
8. Puka - Limited at practise today, marked as questionable. Hard to track how many injuries he has. Still owned by 17.9%, i’d be cutting ties, and using that money elsewhere
9. KC Concepcion - Its very similar to Price, this is a luxury trade. He’s not the best rookie WR on the Browns roster, but still has 20 targets through the first 3 weeks. If owned, I would be keeping. One touch down and that price gets some big green arrows.
10. David Montgomery - I get it the BE of 42 is scary, but he has had 2 good weeks out of 3. Is week 3 the outlier? I would be holding another week
11. Chase Brown - The touches are there 21 and 23 before 15 in week 3. In a traditionally slow to start offense, he does have Jags and Dolphins before the week 6 BYE. I doubt he is the 4th keeper you want at RB, so can understand the move now, with the 48 BE.
12. Malik Nabers - He is not the mid ranger that was going to elevate into the top tier of WR’s this year, like some of us thought. Not with Jameis Winston under centre. 5 catches for 26 yards, this Giants offense is shot with Dart. Stick a fork in him, Nabers is done for this year.
13. Saquon Barkley - Touches are down, as is production. Colour me shocked an age 29 RB looks busted beyond repair. Still owned by 14.2% of SC’s, hard to see how he gets himself back into the talks for the final keeper spot in your RB core. I think its probably time to farewell Barkley, and right the mistake.
14. Fernando Mendoza - Still owned by 46% of Supercoach’s, the Raiders are somehow 3 and 0, and with each week that passes, us seeing Mendoza on the field this year, seems more unlikely. I don’t have a Mendoza problem, but I do own Carson Beck. I dont see a cash gen replacement for either of these guys for now. Just hold, until that player pops up. Shout out to those who rolled the dice with Watson to start the season.
15. Dalton Kincaid - Bills turned the ball over 5 times (and still beat the Chargers, what in the actual fuck). Off week for Kincaid. If you traded him in last week, don’t trade him straight back out, at least not before his week 7 BYE.
CAPTAIN MY VICE CAPTAIN
I have looped the last 2 weeks, and had Stribling as my captain, and taking the Josh Allen 80 and Bijan Robinson 67 as my VC loop.
The VC loop is a much easier card to play if you can VC a Thursday night game player. Browns vs Steelers doesn’t have that player.
Games start an hour later for us with daylight savings kick off, so Josh Allen at 4am against the Patriots is an easy VC option, or straight up C.
There is some juicy captain targets if Allen doesn’t score well -
JSN - vs Chargers 725am Monday
Gibbs - vs Panthers - 11:20am Monday
Robinson - vs Saints - 11:15am Tuesday
Allen VC, Gibbs C for me.
